For this week’s photography challenge we have been asked to show our favourite place, or one that we return to time and again. I personally tend to seek out new experiences and rarely return to the same place often, but the exception would have to be Munich and, more specifically, Nymphenburg Palace in the city’s west. I spent my first four years in Europe in Munich and first visited in 2006, so it is like a second home to me. I was lucky enough to live within walking distance of Nymphenburg for a good portion of my time in Munich and went there often for a stroll through the palace grounds. I definitely prefer the wooded perimeter of the grounds to the central lawned (and tourist filled) area, but even amongst the crowds there are good photos to be found.

 

Die Fotografie Herausforderung für diese Woche lädt uns ein, Bilder von unseren Lieblingsorten zu zeigen. Ich bin ständig auf der Suche nach etwas Neuem, aber es gibt einen Ort, den ich immer wieder besuche und er heißt Schloss Nymphenburg in München. Ich habe meine ersten vier Jahre in Europa in München verbracht und mein erster Besuch in 2006 ist jetzt schon lange her! München ist wie eine zweite Heimat für mich geworden und ich besuche die Stadt noch regelmäßig. Während meiner Zeit in München hatte ich das Glück nur einige Gehminuten von Schloss Nymphenburg zu wohnen und ich bin oft dorthin gegangen, um entlang der Waldpfaden zu spazieren. Der äußere und natürlichere Teil des Parks war mein Lieblingsort, aber der zentrale touristengefüllte Vorplätze sind auch schön. Zumindest kann man auch dort schöne Fotos finden.
