One more time

I have only been engaging myself with the weekly photo challenges on the Daily Post for the last few months, but I am definitely sad to see it go. Thank you very much to the organisers, my fellow challengers and everyone who dropped by with a like or a comment! I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and will continue to post photos at semi-regular intervals for the foreseeable future.

As for my entry this week, well I am going to keep in the true spirit of the challenge and post up my favourite photos from almost three years of running this blog. So enough with the text. It’s all about the photos this week. Just one more time.

    1. Thanks Vanessa! Those two images were planned well in advance and are a bit of a departure from my normal style, perhaps that’s why I also find them so special.
The keys swinging from the lock are meant to evoke feelings of just arriving home and closing off the outside world, so safety and comfort ideally.
The abstract image in the forest I took to show myself that not every image must be perfectly in focus and sharp front to back. Far more important are the effect and the emotions that are carried with the image. It might be time to reteach myself that lesson…

    1. Thank you very much!
The birds in the photo are, I believe, a red kite and a raven. I really love watching the birds of prey circling above the valley and occasionally try to photograph them, with mostly disappointing results. On that particular day I was home ill and when I saw the kite alight on the tree opposite me I ran to grab the camera and get some shots off. Then this little drama took place and I was simply in the right place at the right time. I may have had a little dance around my apartment once I saw the shot on the back of the camera, despite my illness. šŸ˜‰
