Continuing on from the monochrome images of Tampere taken with the analog camera in the last post, this time I have some images in a very similar style taken with a digital camera and the 50 mm focal length that I am much more comfortable with. The images are from several different days and the weather conditions changed considerably in that time. In the first images the light was flat and I focused on texture and form, while the later ones were taken in harsh sunlight and the stark contrast provided an extra point of interest. I particularly like the images with complex reflections. They definitely require extended viewing to figure out!
Nach dem die Monochrombilder im letzten Eintrag gezeigt habe, die ich mit der analogen Kamera aufgenommen habe, möchte ich in diesem Eintrag die Bilder von der digitalen Kamera zeigen, die ich mit dem vertrauten 50 mm Objektiv gemacht habe. Die Bilder wurden an mehreren Tagen aufgenommen und das Wetter hat sich in der Zeit drastisch verändert. Im flachen Licht habe ich mich auf Struktur und Form konzentriert, während in sonnigen Bedingungen das Spiel von Schatten im Fokus stand. Insbesondere mag ich die Aufnahmen mit den komplexen Reflexionen. Man muss sie schon länger betrachten, um sie zu entschlüsseln.
Valley of Stars 
I especially like image #4, mostly dark but with some ghost-like traces of light. Looks to me as if time itself left its mark in the picture.

It’s interesting that you like image #4 the most as I almost didn’t include it in the post!
Personally I much prefer image #8, which is quite similar, but likely much more confusing for the viewer.

It probably depends on how/where you look at the images: I originally wrote this post on a small tablet where #8 was somewhat too detailed, while on the larger PC screen it does indeed look more interesting than #4.

That’s very true and good to know.
I almost always view the blog on a 13″+ screen unless I am quickly showing it to a colleague on my smartphone and so don’t often check how the images look on smaller devices.

Bild 4 scheint einen Nerv getroffen zu haben, was ich damit nicht gerechnet habe. Ich habe es fast nicht gepostet, weil es mir selber wenig gesagt hat. Am Ende habe ich es aufgenommen, weil es einen schönen Übergang zwischen den beiden Fotoserien ermöglichte. Eine schöne Überraschung, das es so gut angekommen ist!
Bild 3 ist von einem Luxushotel in der Nähe von einem populären Strand in Tampere. Die Spiegelung der Wolken im Glas hat meine Augen angezogen und der Kontrast mit dem Beton des Hotels fand ich so krass, dass ich das Bild machen musste.
